Well, I started early... by having a good walk after the necessary stretching. Lasted for 10 minutes, until I felt that the intensity needed to be increased. So it became a slow jog for the twenty minutes.
I didn't really do any weights training or muscular strengthening exercises, as I didn't really have the time, but hey, I did walk right?
The morning workout really works. The activity got me going for the whole morning, until just before lunch. After that, it's a lethargic, but it's still manageable. Besides, I had 7 hours of sleep before then, so there's no excuse.
I realised that out that the Army Unit I am currently now at, CCO Movement-Transport Line, has finally advocated some sort of healthy lifestyle.
Now, on every monday, wednesday and friday, Our superiors will be letting us exercise from 4 in the afternoon until the standard fall-out time of 5.30pm.
It's a good way to promote sports. Besides, we wouldn't have to do shit work for 1/4 of the day! heh heh.
The sergeants grouped us into the combat-fit and non-combat-fit. Well, I was thinking about being garang and all that, but, after some time, I think that if they had another extra exercises for any upcoming Fitness Test, I would be dragged in. That, might even hinder the exercise plan I already had in mind.
So I admitted my old ligament injury. While I will still be forced to exercise, I just have to walk for 30 minutes, unlike the unluckily (or is it?) fit ones who have to jog.
And I was right. A chin-up regime was carried out, and followed by a jog.
After which, we had some games until the time is up. Strange but true, but why are the unfit were participating in basketball and soccer? Some gathered to talk about this, and it nearly boiled the internal politics the next day.
As I was walking for a refill of water, I saw a warrant officer (Bloody Old Botak Ah Pek) taking a glance at my Nike Kneeguard on my right Knee.
BOBAP: What happened to your leg?
Me: Ligament Tear, Sir.
BOBAP: Well then, is it okay?
Me: (shakes head in resign) No, sir.
BOBAP: Then does it hurt?
Me: Well..... Yes. Sir.
BOBAP: Then it could mean you might not be able to drive.
I got a little shocked. So it is true. Any injury that takes place and still gives the silght hint of hindering a driver's ability, is automatically discriminated upon.
It is understandable. Our unit only gives a single chance to drivers. After seeing countless people being relegated to mere storeman or regimental policeman (read: standing lazy guardsman), I have come to terms that I might hit a snag in my driver vocation.
Argh... why did I confess my injury at a time like this?
Anyways, on to the workout.
The chin up with assisted weights was too "Siong" for me to handle, seeing that after 17 plates of iron supporting me, I could manage 12 at first, 8 next, and 3 last.
Not good....
